Nicole Striegl

My name is Nicole and I am a local artist! I work with a variety of mediums from watercolor and acrylic paint to colored pencils and digital. Inspiration for my art comes from what I love: Animals and pop culture! My passion is creating pet portraits in colored pencils.
Art has always been a part of my life, but my love for science and animals drove me into the veterinary field at a young age. While I loved being able to help these wonderful beings who did not have a voice to speak when they were hurt or feeling ill, after 15 years I felt the call to pursue my art full time. My passion for animals and the veterinary field is still very important to me, and animals are featured prominently throughout my portfolio.
Inspiration also comes from my favorite shows, comics and other pop culture media. I’ve been reading comics since a young age and admire the imagination of creators such as Frank Miller and David Mack. My husband and I immerse ourselves in the culture, attending FanExpos where we observe skilled cosplayers with their crafted outfits and visit booths of talented artists. Someday I hope to have a booth in a convention and share my creations with others.
It’s been a year since I’ve dedicated myself fully to my art. I had forgotten how much I enjoy the freedom I feel with each stroke of the pencil. Creating is like a flame being fanned. The more I create, the more I realize this is what I was meant to do. To produce a piece that I put my heart into that brings joy and feeling to others, that is the greatest satisfaction.
Being chosen as one of the artists to display their art at the Denver Pavilions is an honor. I am grateful to be able to have this opportunity and hope my art brings a smile to those who see it.

Nicole, a longtime Colorado resident since her youth, balances her artistic pursuits with a vibrant personal life. Outside of creating art, she relishes quality time with her husband, Tyler, exploring new local restaurants, and attending a variety of festivals and conventions. Their days often include playful hours at the park with their beloved dogs — Hazel, Jayne, and Kenobi — engaged in energetic games of fetch.

Juli Smith
Featured Artist, Summer 2024
Hello friends! My name is Juli Smith and I am an intuitive artist in Denver, Colorado. I create my work from a place of deep feeling and intuition, often with no preconceived ideas about what the finished product will look like. I allow my subconscious mind to guide me, and I trust that the results will be authentic and expressive.
My abstract works are an expression of the meditative state I am in while creating. I use color, texture, and shapes to explore my inner world. The viewer is invited to see what they see in the intricacy of the drawings.
I believe that art is a powerful tool for healing and transformation. It can help us to express our deepest emotions, to connect with our inner selves, and to find meaning in the world around us.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work with others, and I hope that my work will evoke curiosity and playfulness. What do you see?
Juli Smith is a visual artist and jazz vocalist who lives in Denver, Colorado. Her art has been featured in art shows at local galleries, most recently at Spectre Arts on Broadway. Her musical talent has graced many of Colorado’s finest jazz venues including Dazzle, and The Purple Martini.
